Lethal undercover agent Stefan Prakenskii knows a thousand ways to kill a man - and twice as many ways to pleasure a woman. That's why he's looking forward to his new mission. He must go to the coastal town of Sea Haven and insinuate himself into the life of an elusive beauty who has mysterious ties to his past and a link to a dangerously seductive and equally elusive master criminal who wants only one thing: to possess her. Judith Henderson is an artist on the rise, an ethereal and haunted woman whose own picture-perfect beauty stirs the souls of two men who have made her their obsession. For years she has been waiting for someone to come and unlock the passion and fire within her - waiting for the right man to surrender it to. But only one man can survive her secrets and the shadow she has cast over both their lives.

2.75 Stars

Not as good as bk#1. And that one was just okay.
The repetition is off the charts. It is so bad it makes you Crazy. Not only his thoughts and her thoughts. And trust me, both are HIGHLY repetitive. But other aspects of this story and elements from bk#1 are constantly repeated throughout this story.

The potential of the suspense, action and mystery is there, but all of it ended up being monotonous and vapid. Quite frankly, it was beyond stupid and made very little sense.. Stephen a.k.a. Thomas is supposed to be this great assassin and constantly falls short of his 'Character Description'. Omg! He is even Gentle with a bad guy at the end. WTF?!
That scene was just absolutely Absurd! This person had physically harmed Judith and he
"... gently laid him on the ground." Not only is this out of character for the male mc, but ANYBODY!

Between the Editing Errors, the Repetition and the lack of believable character behavior of both MC's, this book is lucky to get 2.75 stars from me. ( )

3-1/2 stars.
On the whole I liked this. Sometimes there was too much magic stuff and many times there were too many sex scenes. I can overlook the over use of magic better than the over use of love scenes. At least the magic was part of the action but the sex scenes mostly just interrupted. Still I liked the hero and how he was so overcome with the heroine and how he felt about her and how open he was that he needed her. She was much more of a nonentity. ( )

Okay so leave it to me to once again pick up a book to find it's part of a series and not the first book. That's why the 4 stars, a little lost since I didn't know the brothers story so lost a little of the background for me. It took a couple of chapters but think I finally caught up. (Also discovered there's another series that involves a couple of the characters in this book, when will I ever learn. :? )

Stefan is basically a government (not ours) trained assassin. He starts off locked in a cell with a psycho obsessed with Judith...she was a young art student when he met her in Paris....then he corrupted her. Stefan's job is to find out what Señor Psycho has done with a microchip that holds a lot of government secrets...once again not ours.

Now since he's obsessed with this woman and not giving any clues to where the chip is, Stefan's handlers decide maybe he should try working on the woman to see if she knows anything about this. Here's is where the book took an almost "seriously, you expect me to believe this" turn. Stefan, now going by the name of Thomas Vincent, is lead to Sea Haven and Judith. Oh by the way, his long lost brother, Lev, was supposedly killed in this area. Too much coincidence, well even "Thomas" gets the feeling something is hinky about this whole thing. Could that be because Petr Ivanov, the exterminator, is in the area....most likely hoping to lure Lev out into the open using Stefan?

Judith is the woman who once saw everything through rose colored glasses. Heart broken over the death of her brother at the hands of the glamorous older man....see Señor Psycho above... she has locked away part of her emotional self for fear of causing more deaths. She paints and makes kaleidoscopes but Stefan can tell some of her earlier passion is missing. So now she lives on a farm with 5 other survivors of violence....whether done to them or someone they loved. And all of them have some sort of psychic ability. Judith is bound to a spirit element. We also have air, water, earth and fire....plus oldest "sister" Blythe who's ability is a mystery.

But she's not the only one with a "talent", Stefan has a few tricks in his bag of goodies.

Getting to know the characters was fun. There was plenty of action...in and out of the bedroom. Touching, heartbreaking scenes. Some moments that had I not read up on the author and learned her style of writing and her usual subject matter; might have been over the top on my unbelievable scale....but once I got into the spirit (you like the play on words there, lol at my own corny joke) of things, I really started to enjoy the book. It's fast paced. Not a lot of unnecessary dialogue or description of places or things.

So now that I have found the world of Christine Feehan thinking I might stay a while and have a long look around. ( )

I really like her Dark series and the Ghost walker series but this was just not the same. It was too much like the Drake Sister series that didn't like at all. ( )

Well there are now three Prakenskiii brothers in Sea Haven and there are seven of them. There's now a good possibility of having the other brothers matched up with the other 'sisters'. What do you think? Judith and Stephan's story was nice. ( )
