Due or Die 3.5 Stars When Carrie Rushton's obnoxious husband is found shot to death, suspicion naturally falls on the newly elected president of the Friends of the Library. Briar Creek librarian, Lindsay Norris, is convinced of Carrie's innocence and sets out to learn who wanted the nasty man dead. The mystery itself is on the predictable side, and it is relatively easy to predict the culprit and the motive. Nevertheless, the appealing heroine, quirky town residents, and delightful pup more than make up for the lack of suspense in the story. Lindsay is a very down-to-earth and appealing heroine. What she lacks in investigative skills, she more than makes up for in her directness and loyalty. The developments in her slow burn romance with Sully add another level of enjoyment to the story. Overall, an entertaining read with engaging characters. I look forward to continuing with the series. Lindsey is stunned when Carrie, the newly elected president of the Friends of the Library, is accused of murdering her husband. Convinced of her friend’s innocence, Lindsey is working to find the evidence to clear her. But much works against her, mostly circumstantial evidence. A huge snow storm complicates matters, but an abandoned puppy, who desperately wants Lindsey to be his person, is instrumental in saving the day. It’s a well written mystery with interesting characters and is quite entertaining. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

If you live in North Texas, you are staying inside during the triple-digit heat, and a mystery with snow on the cover in the story is very welcome. I loved the main character and am delighted that I have more books with her. She is fair and very worried about Carrie, a hard-working nurse being accused to murdering her selfish and useless husband. She goes on the case reluctantly to find the true killer, she knows that it cannot be Carrie.
A blizzard comes and it seems that a storage building was damaged by the storm but was it and why was it?
Enjoy this great cozy for a hot summer day! ( )
