I'd never heard of the Watts Towers, so now I'd love to see them. Neat illustrations, too! ( ) A young girl tells the story of her Uncle Sam who finds a piece of broken tile. This leads to his pursuit of finding the beauty in broken things and building structures from them, resulting in the creation of the U.S. National Landmark, the Watts Towers. A story about being creative, having determination to follow your passions, and a legacy that was created as a result of creativity and perseverance. The story would make a good introduction to teaching a unit on structures. An author's historical explanation of the story and a build-your-own Watts Tower craft is also included. Recommended for ages 7-11. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
