First of all, this is not a formal review, I skimmed too much to give an educated review. I enjoyed the book because I found it fascinating that people so long ago were struggling with the same issues of faith, conviction and truth as we struggle with today. As it says in Ecclesiastes, there is nothing new under the sun. Some of his thoughts on confession, hiding from God, the difficulty of seeing the light when you've lived so long in the dark, were both interesting and inspiring. I also enjoyed the bits speaking about the people around him, the history. I found myself skimming though, because so much of it seemed to be just rephrasing and repeating scriptures, and really, I'd rather spend my time reading the scriptures.
