Ok, aside from two huge continuity errors within the story (one where she skips Easter Sunday and another where Sweetheart hill alternates between being part of her fathers ranch and part of her husbands ranch) that drove me a bit bonkers, this story was great. Flashbacks are not my favourite device, but these were worth it in the end. I knew who the bad guy was from the very start, but it didn't detract at all from my enjoyment of the story. ( ) One of Benni's favorite mystery writers, Emma Baldwin, has returned to San Celina, and Benni is thrilled when Emma agrees to display a crazy quilt that inspired her first novel in the folk art museum's quilt show. And an old partner of Gabe's from his days on the LAPD comes to call and is found murdered the next day. When Benni starts getting threatening phone calls and her truck is vandalized, she realizes that the murder, her stalker, and that crazy quilt all have something in common. The question is, will she be able to figure it out before it's too late? Fowler is back in stride with this episode, with an intricate plot and subtle clues. A good read. Benni doesn't know who is after her. She finds her pickup truck vandalized - spray-painted with insults and its tires slashed. Her frayed nerves get even more so after she is shot at while organizing a quilt show at her gallery. But Beni is a determined woman and won't be stopped until she finds out who is threatening her. Could this dangerous stranger have something to do with husband's past as an undercover police officer? Faced with her own mortality Benni vows she's not going down without a fight! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
