Most of the tales are weak offerings looking to exploit some single theme or twist on the Cthulhu sub-genre. The stories are too short to really develop anything and most come off like a one joke gag. Too many of the stories are goofy or supposed to be slightly humorous usually in some grim fashion, but a few in pure slapstick. Too often the gag just doesn't work. A book like this would be much better with 3-4 longer stories that don't rely on a single thing to catch you for the story to be effective. Cthulhu comedy rarely works for me.

I wouldn't even recommend this to Cthulhu completists. ( )
