Such a fun book! The story shows problems that people and animals are facing at the county fair. Each time a problem occurs, "Cows to the Rescue!" The cows come to save the day. This book was really enjoyable to read. This would be great for younger kids because it shows that is always a good idea to help someone out and by helping them, it could make their day. The pictures were also very well drawn and were accurately depicting what was going on, in a silly way! Would totally recommend this! ( )

Cows to the Rescue is a funny book I think young kids will love! Farmer Greenstalk is headed to the county fair where there are lots of activities going on: good looking duck contest, rides, races, etc. At first, Farmer Greenstalk can't get his truck started to get him and his animals there, but the cows come to the rescue! For each activity planned at the county fair, something goes wrong. The cows are always there to help out each incident and save the day. I think young readers will love this book and get a good laugh from it along with loving to yell out "Cows to the Rescue" on every other page. ( )

Cows to the Rescue is about cows who help a series of people throughout the day during a county fair. The cows do various tasks such as clean a pig who gets dirty before the pig competition and help the farmer get to the fair when his truck will not work. While I was personally disappointed with the book, I think young children would like it. The book is predictable and I think kids would enjoy yelling "cows to the rescue!" on every other page. ( )

I liked this book for a few reasons. For one, I liked the plot because it was very sequential in that each page was labeled with a time. For example, the first page reads, “At seven o’clock, Farmer Greenstalk could not start the car.” Each page would state what time it was to show a progression of the day, which I think is helpful for younger students to sequentially follow and comprehend. I also liked the writing of the story because it had a pattern. When there was a problem in the story, the solution was always, “cows to the rescue.” I think younger students would like this pattern because by the end of the book they may be able to predict how each issue will be resolved. The big message of Cows to the Rescue is that it is nice to be kind and help to others when they are in need no matter where they come from. In the story, there were cows that were helping people. This represents how people of different backgrounds should help each other. ( )
