Consulted for research purposes: nice description of how Arizona's landscapes transition, paired with vivid photographs and details of flora that should prove helpful. Got this because I've read many of his books about the area and thought it would be nice to have some pictures. The photographs deliver, and I was a little surprised that the writing was so fine--I'd read reviews that it wasn't up to his usual standards, and that's not the case. The biggest emphasis is that this area has such dynamic change from one area to another, one tends to think of the desert as all the same. The guy has a good eye, and a real talent for turning a phrase. Very happy with the book. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
The Southwest is deemed contrary because landscapes as foreign to each other as ocean and desert, forests of pine and forests of cactus, rivers and sere lunar expanses, civilization and wildness exist side by side. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
