It's been a while since I last read [b:Ender's Game|375802|Ender's Game (Ender's Saga, #1)|Orson Scott Card|http://photo.goodreads.com/books/1316636769s/375802.jpg|2422333], so I did not spot the plot discrepencies that others have pointed out. What did bother me was how matter-of-factly the characters in this book dealt with First Contact. I think there should have been a bit more debate even among the adventurous, though stoic, miners. On the up side, the story was exciting and the art was effective. ( ) I'm not going to say Orson Scott Card wrote this, because he didn't. His name might be plastered there, but that's how far it actually goes. I expected too much from it and got a very weak story peppered with cliche after cliche after cliche. And to top that off it doesn't even finish the invasion, it ends with a massive cliffhanger - which will probably be continued in another series. The artwork is very good, but if I'm ever reading it again, it'll be as a picture-book and nothing more. I was going to buy the whole comic-book series based on Card's novels but now I have serious doubts. Maybe the ones that are based on the novels are better, as opposed to Formic Wars: Burning Earth for which they had to "write" (if you can even call it that) new material. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

"History would eventually record that child prodigy Ender Wiggin led humanity's victory over the ant-like aliens known as the Formics. But where did it all begin? During its earliest days, the first blood of the Formic Wars was spilled by a ragtag band of asteroid miners, the son of a corrupt industrialist and a dedicated cadre of Special Forces soldiers. Now, for the first time, the secret history of author Orson Scott Card's legendary Ender's Game saga is revealed in this official prequel!"--P. [4] of jacket.
