The Berenstain Bears’: Home Sweet Tree is a board book and an early reader’s book because there are very few words on each page and the words used are very easy for small children to be able to pronounce. This is a book that would be read at home or kept in the library at school rather than a read aloud book because it is a very easy read, and because of all the flaps that are on each page. With all the flaps on each page it is a very good way to get the children engaged with the reading. It is also a very educational book because not only is it a good book for a child to practice their reading skills, almost of every page it tells you how many flaps you are supposed to find so it can help the children count. The illustrations in this book are very colorful and detailed. ( )

This book has a wonderful tone and upbeat vibe to it. The Berenstain Bears are opening their doors and giving you a tour of their Home Sweet Tree. The rhyming scheme keeps things fun and the illustrations are pretty general which makes things relatable. I believe this book teaches the value of sharing and how to be a good host! ( )

Beginning readers will feel right at home when Brother and Sister Bear take them on a tour of the family tree house.

This book was pretty boring. It told very basic things from the series that readers should already know in rhymes- this is our tree, this is Papa Bear, this is Mama Bear, this is the room we share, etc. It might work as an intro to the series, but there wasn't much point. ( )
