Despite Detective Raven's unwillingness to have a civilian along, Callie Markham ends up riding shotgun to help look for her stepfather's murderer. Within the next twenty-four hours there's another murder with the same M.O. Sacivh learns,' after another visit from Samantha Barrister he must also solve a thirty-year-old crime. 'Savich and Sherlock learn that at the time of her death Samantha had a six-year-old son, who disappeared as a teenager. Savich is convinced the missing boy is the key' to Samantha's murder 30 years ago. Review: This is the best book thus far in this series. Both murder investigations were entertaining, and intriguing. I really enjoyed this Catherine Coulter thriller. Agents Dylan Savichand Lacey Sherlock are vacation when a supreme court justice is murdered. They’re called back to Washington to investigate, and as more killings occur, realize they’re working with a dangerous assassin. The mystery was great in this one, as well as the slow reveal of clues. One of her best! Please excuse typos/name misspellings. Entered on screen reader. I generally enjoy Catherine Coulter's books, especially the FBI series featuring husband and wife FBI agents, Sherlock and Dillon Savich... but this story starts strangely with a ghost and ends after a long journey about the main story, which is the assassination of a Supreme Court Justice. While the storytelling is good -- and the mystery slow to unfold -- I found the dialogue strange and clunky at times. A decent who-done-it, but I think she has written better novels than this one.

My mom never really suggested the series to me, and I think I know why she never read the book fully herself. If you like FBI books, you might like Blow Out, but you might like a lot more books better than it too. Don't start here if you're trying to get into the CSI/FBI area, it will -very likely- suck your enthusiasm dry. ( )
