Just like any other kid, Lulu desperately wanted a dog more than life. Every time Lulu asked her parents she was left with a response of, "NO!!" In lieu of a dog, Lulu's parents bought her a stuffed dog, At night Lulu wished for this dog to come to life and become an actual dog. To her surprise, she woke up the next morning and her stuffed was alive! She was shocked and thought for sure she was dreaming. The dog was determined to prove to her that he was real, but no matter what he did Lulu still didn't believe him. Frustrated, the dog leaves but Lulu follows. They end up in Paris and Lulu is still embarrassed to be hanging out with a "stuffed animal." Heartbroken, the dog walks away and leaves Lulu behind. Minutes passed and the dog sees Lulu about to get hit by a car. He puts his feelings behind and jumps in front of the car to save her life. It turns out the dog is actually a real dog and her parents let her keep them. Lulu was not imagining this at all. Lulu's dream finally comes true. This was such a cute book and one that children with truly enjoy. The illustrations capture the plot perfectly and totally match the characters' personality. ( )
