I enjoyed reading this book for many reasons. First, I connected with the main character, Geraldine. I connected with her because at first she resented her new baby brother because he cried all the time and took all the attention. I felt exactly like Geraldine growing up when my younger brother was born. Second, the illustrations in the book are interesting. For example, On each spread of the book, one picture is drawn to the page scale and one picture is drawn in book that is outlined in black. This makes the illustrations catchy to the reader. I think the overall message of this book is about family. They are the ones who love you the most even when you may not love them back. ( )
