In this installment of the bagthorpe story Grandma decides that she wants a family reunion and then invites Uncle Claud, Aunt Penelope, and their children Luke and Esther. Luke and Esther are both well mannered and Luck is trying to become the "young brain of Brittan" and some of Esther's poetry is going to be published. The bagthorpe children despise their Aunt who is a neat freak and is always quoting scripture. The children are determined to drive their relatives away as fast as possible. To do this they decide that using bugs to scare Aunt Penelope is the best tactic. After they have finally gotten Their relatives to leave they all (except jack) try to Break a record.
