Summary: A bear marvels at the moon and watches it every night. He noticed that it was getting smaller and smaller every night. The bear grew very worried and started to "feed" the moon some of his honey that he had for himself. As he slept, the birds ate the honey, but the moon still grew bigger. Bear thought the moon was getting bigger because it was eating the honey. The birds finally told him it was them who have been eating the honey. The bear was happy, but sad because the moon didn't really need him afterall.

Personal Reaction: This book was good with the exception of one part. There is a part where the bear climbs his house to try and reach the moon, but he falls. I just did not think that part was necessary.

Classroom Extension: This book would be ideal for teaching the different stages of the moon. Students could learn about how it seems bigger some nights than others. ( )

The moon started getting bigger again. The birds finally told him that the moon didn't need his honey because it grows bigger and smaller all by itself. This is a cute book to teach students about the phases of the moon.
