I was completely heart-broken when Luc Book Description: After the death of her parents, Robbie Byrne is put in foster care where she meets her exact opposite, Luc Cintrone. Abandoned as a small child, Luc is a foul-mouthed rebel who takes it upon himself to be her defender, whether she likes it or not. As they grow up, they fumble through their different roles in each other's lives—family, confidants and then, ultimately, lovers. Just as the couple is settling into their newfound relationship, they encounter a beautiful lawyer, Payten, who is immediately taken by Luc's rough edges. But he denies her, making him absolutely irresistible in her eyes. Payten is a woman who has grown accustomed in her privileged life in obtaining whatever she wants, no matter the cost or sacrifice. And she is fairly confident Luc will eventually see things her way…one way or another. My Thoughts: Simply...I LOVED THIS BOOK. Jolyn did such a beautiful job transforming Robbie and Luc's relationship through their tween, teen, and adult years. The transitions were simple and smooth and the reader was able to clearly understand and appreciate the depth of their emotions and the strength of their relationship as it developed over time. I will not go into the details of the story because I want future readers to be pleasantly surprised...and you will be. Robbie and Luc are such interesting and complex characters, as is their relationship. Their relationship was very reminiscent of those of the H/h in Fifty Shades of Grey and Beautiful Disaster. Make no mistake, this is not a copy and paste deal. Ms. Palliata did not just transfer the concept of their broken relationships to her characters. No, what she did was far more interesting and unique...with a twist. Boy, with a twist. I found the primary characters were extremely likable. I bit my nails for them up to the very end but was rooting for them the whole time. The desperately need a HEA. The secondary characters supported the story very well. The villianess was truly vile and detestable. I absolutely hated her. She was very well written. Excellent...excellent story! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
