I think I should probably buy this book. I liked how we gradually learned more about the world with each story. They were certainly ordered well. Each of the (first several, at any rate) stories could have spawned an anthology of its own: space travel in the time of the floods, loss of the space habitats, shape-shifting humans, synthetic humans, synthetic quasi-humans, "sliders".
