In my opinion, the book "Because Your Mommy Loves You," gives me mixed ideas and opinions. Something that I didn't like about this book was that there wasn't much of a plot. While it repeated on each page which was something that I did like since it makes it a little easier for reader to understand, I did not like the the fact that the text could be easily misunderstood by a young reader. For example, one page reads, "When the pack on you back feels like a giant rock, you mommy could say, 'That looks awfully heavy for you. Here, I'll carry it!' But she doesn't." The next page goes on to talk about how they would sit down and eat some raisins so it never really completes the idea. Young readers might be confused as to why the mom wouldn't carry the backpack for her son when it was heavy so that is definitely something I didn't like. Something that I did like about the book was that it had great illustrations that matched the text perfectly. The illustrations seemed to be drawn with pencil and watercolor and you could really see the detail put in to each page. The big idea of the story was that your mommy would always be there for you, but I don't think that the story made that very clear for a young reader. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
