The main character, Katie (KT) enters into an alternative universe where it is only academics who are revered and sport stars (elite athletes) are considered weird and useless and almost shunned. Although KT is a ball player and I love baseball, I just couldn't get into this book and I don't think kids will find it that intriguing either. I'll put it out for a while, but if it doesn't move off the shelves, it will have a limited shelf life. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
While playing in the championship softball game, star pitcher KT Sutton blacks out and awakes to a changed world where the roles of academics and sports at her middle school have flipped, making talented athletes, such as KT, outcasts and brainy nerds popular. The story is written in first-person, so readers learn about KT's feelings as she experiences the strange and frustrating changes in her new reality. This story was interesting to read because I wanted to find out what was going on, just like KT wanted to know. It also was a twist on the typical middle school coming of age story, but just like those stories KT learns more than she expected from this experience.
