I have enjoyed other titles from Willey—notably, her picture-books about Clever Beatrice—but Thanksgiving With Me is my first exposure to Lloyd Bloom's work. I found it engaging enough, with an almost folk-song, tall-tale feeling narrative and charmingly expressive and old-fashioned-looking artwork. I don't know that this is destined to become a holiday favorite of mine, but I do like that it captures a young child's eagerness for holiday visitors, something I remember experiencing as a girl myself. Recommended to picture-book readers looking for Thanksgiving tales that center around extended family coming together. ( )

This book shows a little girl excited to see family that she might only see at this time of year. It reminds me of my family that comes to get for the holidays. This could me a fun read for the thanksgiving season.. ( )

The art of listening was woven into a story of families coming together. This book is good to show kids that through listening their eyes can become open to see. By just listening to her mother describe her uncles, the little girl was able to identify one of her uncles at first sight. ( )

This book could be used during Thanksgiving holidays when the children are excited to have visiting relatives. The illustrations in the book was a little fuzzy, but playful and the rhyming text depicted the characters feelings. ( )
