This was my first taste of Taylor's writing and she happened to write it in such a way that it reminded me of Mercedes Lackey's short "Lammas Night", which I adore. Three girl friends bake their wishes for the same man to be their future husband into a dream cake on St. Faith's Night, but maybe the results are not what any of them expect.
I really enjoyed this. It was pretty straight forward, you knew the outcome if not the method for getting there. Cathy (aka Pippin) was a likeable narrator if not altogether quick on the uptake. Matty also seemed everything the girls believed him to be, which in the end is what's important when its your one true person right? ( )
Just as with any anthology, some of the stories are good and others are just meh. But I didn't skip any and I got to spend some more time with Rose and Dimitri, which is always a treat. ( )
