Dougie wrote a great book. There is consistent doctrine and practicality throughout. Topics like friends, fighting, competition, contempt for the cool, giants, dragons, and books were unique, fresh, and interesting. Some elements in his writing are not the type that make it into many parenting books, even the good ones, yet he relies on Scripture to set his boundaries and guide his approach at every turn. It is a fantastic read packed with wisdom. ( )
