I have mixed feelings about the Hi-Rez. It felt like a 'romantic/mystical savage' trope. I also am unsure about using animals lives to extend human lives. It seems a weird bit of perversion, to my admittedly limited knowledge of 'spirit' animals in NA culture. I'm not sure that it's appropriate to columbus NA spirituality this way. However if offensive parts are not looked at too closely it's an interesting story.
I am against using animal parts to extend human life wholesale like this. Slaughterhouses are bad enough. Is one a cannibals if one eats pork and has pig organs extending their lives? Interesting that this was more controversial than using kids. ( )

This is super short! Half of the ebook was actually just excerpts from Unwind and Unwholly. I've already read both, as well as Unsouled, but Unstrung is a good way of filling in the blanks of what happened in Lev's life when he was separated from Connor and Risa. It's good to have a back story of what led to his unexpected choice. This could have been longer by dealing with the next steps for Lev and I would have liked it more. ( )

It was so nice to know the events that lead up to Will being unwound. ( )
