Written by an experienced humor writer and collector of funny anecdotes, this is an absolutely delightful little book that had me ROTFL. If you didn't know before this book will show you that many politicians are idiots, and those that are not are people, just like everyone else. I think my favorite parts were about how the rigid rules of Parliamentary procedure can get twisted into DNA helixes by pols determined to get what they want. None of the stories are longer than a page or so and most are only a paragraph. This would make good bathroom reading (or bedside reading provided no one else sleeps with you or the person who does is deaf, since your laughter is sure to keep your sleeping partner awake). geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

My favourite story has to be the low turnout in Birmingham South for the 1979 European Parliament: by lunch the turnout was one voter, an elderly lady who thought she was voting in the Eurovision Song Contest. ( )
