This book was a little hard to understand to me. It is about a curious boy who had no fear of anything. He was drawn to the pond even though his mother told him to stay away. He went to the pond anyway and found out that there was a god wanting him to get in the water. He finally got close enough to find out that there was a crocodile trying to eat him. He got away. The boy said he was the god. All became friends.
I have been known to do things that I shouldn't have also. This really helps children decide that maybe their parents do know what they are talking about. The parents care about their children enough to warn them of the danger out there.
In the classroom, I would have the children use construction paper to cut out a bad thing that could be in the water and a good thing to glue on paper. Then I would have them write reasons beside each telling why they think they are good and bad. ( )
