( ) This one took me awhile to get through. I didn't love it, but it was good in its way. It was a strange book. It was told almost entirely about Kaleb and Sahara. Very little outside characters. I'm used to reading heavily about one of the changeling packs. It was odd not hearing much from them. I also didn't understand Kaleb. I guess for too many books, he'd been the cold, silent, perfect psy. It was hard to think of him considering Judd a friend. And it was tough understanding that he actually loved Sahara. But it was clear that he did love her. And I guess the fact that those two overcame such a traumatic past experience makes their story all the more romantic. I'd like to see more reactions to Kaleb essentially 'mating' with Sahara. I think it would be amusing to see. I think the world would be as uncomprehending and puzzled as I am. Despite all that, I really liked Kaleb and Sahara. His love was intense, but very real for her. Her faith in him was unwavering. But still, a very strange pairing. OH. MY. GOD. I. LOVE. KALEB. KRYCHECK. Seriously though, this book was so beautiful. I loved Sahara and damn, but Kaleb was as multi-layered as I had suspected and hoped. I am dyyyyyiiinnnnggg to know whose book is next!!!! Side note, but a part of me that remembered a conversation I had with many people about another long-running series: the Southern Vampire Mysteries by Charlaine Harris. This is the 12th book in the Psy-Changling series, and that series is still going SO strong and I am SO in love with it to this day. The Sookie books took a hard nose-dive and ended on an incredibly disappointing note, so I can't help but hope that Harris learns some lessons from Singh about keeping a series fresh, consistent, and making her readers keep guessing and following the series to some brilliantly-constructed conclusions! Contrasting the two series has made me realize that Harris may have more spotlight, but Singh is, by far, the better author!!! A wonderful addition to the series. This is one we've been waiting for for a long time. This story was super angsty and I wondered once or twice how it was going to be resolved. I'm pretty happy with out it turned out. It mostly dealt with the psy race which is not my favorite but I was looking forward to Kaleb's story. It was very well done and emotional. Several mysterious things were cleared up in this one and the story arc is set to go to a whole new place. So yay! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
