I did become slightly annoyed at the month after month hype, plugging and use as an example for just about everything, of the novel Random Walk, only to have the author go silent on it for a few months after publication. Initially I was happy as I was sick of hearing about the damn thing but then I thought, 'huh, must have been a flop', and a few articles later the author admitted it received bad reviews. That bit actually did make me smile and think, 'well at least he admitted it.'
Read if you fancy looking at some old school articles on writing and publication. Essentially the writing bits are sound advice. ( )
