Anna and Natasha are two old friends who share a grotty flat in Bradford. By day they work side by side in a shoe shop, and on Saturday nights regularly frequent the dodgy local night club, The Apollo. Spurred on by the fact that the club is closing down, and fed-up with the calibre of men they meet there week after week, the girls decide to go upmarket and visit a more expensive club, Bartok's. It pays off and on their first night there Anna meets Richard and Natasha, Geoffrey. For a while, happy in their new relationships, it all seems too good to be true but the course of true love does not run smooth; Richard is married, and Geoffrey is living a lie... Funny, compelling and intelligent, Robert Craig's second novel is an eye-opening expose of the single life which never resorts to cliché. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
