Infinityglass ends the Hourglass trilogy very well. Dune has spent most of his life looking for the Infintiyglass. When Liam finally sends him on the quest to discover the Infinityglass, Dune finds it is a person not a thing. Hallie doesn't know she is the Infinityglass until things in her home of New Orleans start to change and "rips" in time start to take over her body and her reality. Hallie's mother reappears and Hallie finds out more than she wants to know about her absent mother's motives in what Hallie has become. Meanwhile, the Hourglass group comes to help Dune and Hallie as things become more complicated than Dune can handle alone.
This was another good entry in the Hourglass trilogy and draws the series to a close in a satisfying way. ( )

Where do I start? I've been following the Hourglass series fanatically since book one. I've fallen in love with the characters, been enchanted by the story, and always looked forward to more. Needless to say that it was a bittersweet moment when I turned the last page of Infinityglass. I felt satisfied, but sad that it was time to say goodbye.

This particular book focuses mainly on Dune and a newcomer to the group, Hallie. I loved that Dune was in the spotlight this time around. He's slightly awkward, and sweet in a way that makes you want to wrap him up in a great big hug. Best of all, he's a gentleman. Isn't that so hard to find these days? Then there's Hallie, who is his utter opposite. Feisty and impulsive, she makes Dune crazy. It's hard enough to protect an object, but to protect a person? Suffice it to say that it makes things interesting.

Now I'm going to be as vague as possible here for those who haven't gotten to this yet (you won't get any spoilers from me), but Infinityglass ties everything together. Every event that has happened so far culminates into something unbelievable and yet amazing. I couldn't look away. Questions I had were answered, the best (and worst) selves of characters were revealed, and I ended the book with a sense of completion. Infinityglass is an excellent example of what the last book in a series should be. McEntire wrapped everything up in a pretty red bow, and I eagerly accepted it.

Apologies for the vague review, but I hope it's obvious that I enjoyed this book! I just want to give other readers out there the opportunity to enjoy it as much as I did. If you're a fan of the Hourglass series, if you've been following these characters as maniacally as I have, Infinityglass is a must read. Enjoy the journey! ( )

If possible, I liked this book EVEN BETTER than the second one. I Was MORE CUKED in the Romance, the Plot ESCALATED even more, just... EVEN BETTER. ( )

Despite the presence of characters from the previous books--alongside an entirely new character--this book felt like it was part of an entirely different series. All of a sudden the Big Bad of the previous two books was a nobody. Everything built up to what I thought would be the final battle but, nope, he's gone without much resolution, replaced by the Bigger Bad we were told was always lurking behind the scenes.

This book felt forced. The recurring characters were pasted on top of this new plot and none of it truly gelled, imo, and more than one plot thread from previous books was left dangling. Even though I liked the new character this book didn't work for me.

Quick & Dirty: Time is not on their side…

Opening Sentence: “The only reason you want my help is so you can see my girls in a corset,”I said.”

The Review:

The third Hourglass novel sticks with the previous two novels and offers to new POV. Hallie, who we soon find out is the Infinityglass and Dune who is Hourglass’s expert on the Infinityglass. Hallie can change her appearance, which is why she has been pulling jobs for dad with the help of her best friend, Poe. Dune has just discovered that the Infinityglass is not a what, but a who with the help of Hallie’s father. Dune has been placed in her life as a bodyguard to keep her safe from her mother.

Although they soon realize that she already knows she is in the Infinityglass and that her mother wants something from her. As time continues to unravel all around them, and the rips in time being so attracted to Hallie, will they be able to figure it all out in time?

Sigh, so plus side this was my favorite novel of the bunch, so if you are a fan you will enjoy the conclusion. I will knock out what I didn’t like about the series as a whole. First, switching POV’s with every book. It works really well for some trilogies, it didn’t work for me with this one. Also, I felt like the time travel was kind of random and all over the place. I just feel plain confused by the entire series, and mainly I mean what was the point? That being said, these are really my only complaints.

Hallie and Dune were probably my favorite couple besides Emerson and Michael. I did love seeing all of the main characters back in this novel and taking such a big part. I really do like the time travel aspect and the consequences of their actions. The rips in time totally had my attention, and the possessions were downright freaky at times. I was on the edge of my seat at times trying to figure out what was going to happen.

Notable Scene:

“The dead had come back to life. Time had been rewritten. The space time continuum had been damaged. Anyone with the basic gene could see ripples; imprints of people from the past, which has turned into entire scenes, streets full of people, even buildings. These rips were getting worse. Their latest evolution had trapped Michael and Em inside one, and they barely escaped. Liam’s answering smile was more of a grimace. “Too true. There is one thing we haven’t discussed, and it should’ve priority. Is it going to be difficult for you to be near so much water?”

FTC Advisory: Egmont provided me with a copy of Infinityglass. No goody bags, sponsorships, “material connections,” or bribes were exchanged for my review. ( )
