Ex-DI Hilary Green, now working as a civilian consultant to her former Thames Valley bosses, is happy to be handed another cold case murder file. Who killed a young Oxford student at his digs more than 10 years ago, and why? It doesn’t take her long to discover that the young man in question was something of a sexual athlete, and suspects aren’t exactly in short supply, and soon she’s concentrating her investigation on those he bedded and discarded. But tracking down a killer isn’t her only problem. She’s picked up a stalker, and his campaign of sending flowers and intimidating messages is heating up. But when his "gifts" begin to lead her to a number of missing women, Hillary Greene realizes she may have a much bigger problem on her hands than she thought.… (meer)

Have been enjoying the Hilary Green series by Faith Martin. This was a very easy read but very enjoyable. Great characters and good plot. Suspenseful and a page turner ( )

Unfortunately I read this shortly after the book which follows it (Walk A Narrow Mile) and as the plot continues seamlessly from one to the other and is resolved in the first book I read, it rather spoilt my enjoyment. Nonetheless it was still a good read. In this story Hillary Greene has just begun work in the Crime Review Team (Cold Cases) and tries to solve the old murder of a young student in Oxford, who appears to have had no serious enemies, although several acquaintances might have been upset by his lifestyle and cavalier approach to personal relationships, but would they really have killed him? Hillary eventually gets to the bottom of the case, but in the process has to contend with a stalker, apparently a serving police officer, who becomes increasingly bold. ( )
