Trixie Ten is a story used to help young readers count to the number ten while being engaged in the life of Trixie, the thumb print. This book is a traditional fantasy book as the main character is a thumb print and was personified through the story with her siblings, nine other fingerprints. Trixie is in search for somewhere quiet in her house of nine noisy siblings, and many younger readers can relate to that if they have younger siblings. There are plenty of sight words found throughout as well as onomatopoeia to describe the types of sounds heard in Trixie's life. The pictures in the book are easy for the reader to comprehend and they are colorful to gain the reader's attention. Trixie Ten is a story for all young readers to begin with, where it includes bolded sight words and very vivid pictures that relate to the plot. The main idea of this story is that you should never take for granted what you have, and be thankful to have support and family who loves you. Many children can relate to this message. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

The second reason I liked this book was because of the illustrations. Trixie and her siblings are all fingerprints, thats why there is ten of them. I like how they are fingerprints because each one is different even they are all lumped together sometimes. I think it further exemplifies how each sibling has their own identity even though they are a big family.
I think the main message of this book is about appreciating your family. Tixie is often annoyed with her siblings saying how they are too loud but when she decides to run away she disturbed by how quiet it can be when you are all alone. Her siblings love her and she loves them even though they are loud. ( )
