( ) I loved Jennifer L Armentrout's Covenant series so I decided to give her NA book a go. Although I didn't love it as much as the Covenant books, it was definitely a good read. Avery seems like a normal college student, but her life is much more complicated than she lets on. She meets Cam (who of course is naturally swoony) and together they are forced to face their demons head on. That's just a very vague, short summary of the plot because I can't do it justice. Read the book and you'll understand. I think I like "new adult" only slightly more than "young adult." I think I am just too old to really identify, even if there is actual sex in them. There was a whole lot of internal monologue in this, which is really not my thing. But the author did a great job at mapping out the effects of sexual assault, and I appreciated that. Kind of a heavy read, which I wasn't really prepared for, but very good. I sat down one afternoon and picked up this book expecting to read a nice, sexy little romance story and instead I got this - a serious, sexy romance with lots of feelings. I absolutely loved this book. It reminded me a lot of Easy by Tammara Webber and that's the book I measure all new adult romances by (it's my favorite). As a matter of fact, I've told a couple of friends that if they loved Easy, they'll love this book. I could gush on about how great this story is but, really, you just need to read it. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
