An account of the travels by the author in northern India, Pakistan and Afghanistan, the area between the Jumna and Oxus rivers. One observation that the author makes caught my attention. He equates the Indian Caste System with Apartheid. This is quite an interesting read in the sense that the author has taken great pains to travel to all the key archaeological sites in Afghanistan and describe them in fair amount of detail. How of these sites are still extant after the ravages of war and conflict is the question.
