Sehr gut gelesen, und mit blühender Phantasie auch gut geschrieben. Trotzdem kommt es von der Story her lange nicht an den ersten Teil. ( )

disappointing followup. Dollar seemed savvier in book 1, but surprised/unsuspicious here. So much description of torture really didn't improve anything. ( )

Bobby Dollar is back in the second installment from Tad Williams. Bobby is an Advocate of Heaven, sort of a lawyer that deals with certain people when they die, to help plead their case for Heaven in the afterlife. However, after events that happened in the first book, he is on a suspension of service, which leaves him plenty of time to 'rescue' his demon lover from Hell. Williams has created a different viewpoint of how Hell is, and what happens there to souls. Bobby has a grand adventure trying to survive it all, and get back what he feels is his. Good follow up story line, and I look forward to another book in this series. ( )

This was not a hollywood happy ending. That being said, and disabusing any potential readers of some theoretical hero successfully dragging his girlfriend out of hell, we've now got a chance at an exploration of hell that was both imaginative, full of plot, and chock full of similes. I honestly liked it, and thought hell was done very tastelessly. I rooted for the hero, felt his pains, knew his situation was pretty hopeless, and still hoped that the bad guys would keep their word.

Our MC took one hell of a journey. This was one of the best hell-based novels I've ever read. That being said, it's really a niche market. You really have to be open to feeling pain. If you are, please enjoy this! ( )
