It’s not very often that I find myself yelling at a book but A Brother’s Honor by Brenda Jackson had me yelling when something was uncovered. I really enjoyed this book and as you can tell I was completely captivated by the story. A Brother’s Honor is the first book in the Granger’s series and I know I will impatiently be awaiting the release of the next book in this series.

Jace Grange and his brothers Caden and Dalton make a promise to their grandfather on his deathbed that they will take control of the family company and make it work. Oh my goodness these boys have no idea what they are getting into. There is so many things going on that the drama of this story had me flipping pages quickly and wondering what in the world could possibly happen next and who might be involved.

Jace hires Shana Bradford and her company to help him get Granger Aeronautics back in shape. I loved Shana and her dedication to her job and her family. This girl has been burned by a guy before and is not thrilled about having feelings for her newest client.

The sparks between Jace & Shana are combustible though. I loved watching these two work through all the obstacles in their way. Neither one believes in love but the more they get to know each other the more they think it really might be love.

Not only is this a fabulous romance story, but also a great story about family and family values. There is also the great mystery of what is going on within the Granger Aeronautics company and it is a great mystery. I really enjoyed this story and I can not wait to read Caden & Dalton’s stories. I am sure they will be just as wonderful a read as Jace’s story was. ( )

"The Brother's Honor" by Brenda Jackson was a wonderful contemporary mystery romance read. This read also had some drama and suspense at the end. This novel is the beginning series for this author called 'The Granger Brothers. We find that these brothers (Jace, Caden and Dalton)will come together due to a request from their dying grandfather...'a business going under, a host of secrets betrayals and promises to their grandfather to get the company back up to where it once was at its premier level.' Will these three brothers plus the help of Shana Bradford be able to get Granger Aeronautics back to its premier state? There is also another part of this story that deals with these brother's father being wrongly convicted of the murder of their mother and is currently serving a 30 year prison sentence. The brother grandfather had overseen the family business but now with him gone, Jace takes over as CEO and now the story takes off leading up to have all kinds of questions that are answered by picking up this good read that only Ms. Jackson can give to her readers.. I liked how this author was able to 'multi-layer this story really giving the reader a well written novel. I really enjoyed "Jace and Shana's story and can't wait for this author next saga and Yes, I would recommend this read. ( )

A Brother’s Honor is an exquisite start to a new series by master storyteller, Brenda Jackson about family and the ties that bind them. Fantastic characters, a deftly drawn suspenseful plot, and a sizzling attraction will mesmerize readers from the first page. The Granger brothers, Jace, Caden and Dalton are summoned to their family homestead when their grandfather suffers a heart attack and remain there to honor a deathbed promise to revive the family’s failing aeronautical business and to prove their father’s innocent of their mother’s death. As the oldest brother, attorney Jace assumes the lead role and hires the no-nonsense very successful attractive Shana Bradford to get help get the company “out-of-the-red.” The author is no stranger to developing strong sexual attractions and tensions in her novels, and the attraction between Jace and Shana will not disappoint as their relationship sizzles up the pages as family and business secrets and betrayals create unexpected twists and turns.
I enjoyed how the author smoothly introduced the characters and the multiple storylines so the pacing flows naturally. The uniqueness of the brothers personalities, the secondary romance of Shanna’s father, the budding clues behind the death of the mother, the imagery of the Blue Ridge Mountains makes for a delightful read. While this strong novel is focused equally on the couple’s romance and mysteries to be to be resolved, the resolving of some mysteries and relationships also exposed more mysteries and budding romances leaving the readers begging for the next book in the series. Good book. Jace and his two brothers, Caden and Dalton, are called back to Virginia when their grandfather is dying. He makes them promise to take over the family business which is in trouble and to clear their father who was convicted of murdering their mother. All three brothers had left their hometown behind after they were grown because of the bad memories there. All have become successful men.

Jace is the main focus of this story. He takes over as CEO of the business and discovers that things are even worse than he thought. He hires Shana, whose company specializes in turning around failing businesses. There is a sizzling attraction between the two of them that leaps right off the pages. Shana has a rule that she doesn't get involved with clients after she was betrayed by the one that she did get involved with. Jace doesn't get seriously involved with anyone after being betrayed by his ex-wife, who only married him for his money. They fight their feelings but are unable to resist giving in. I loved Jace's determination to fulfill his grandfather's wishes regarding the business. It is obvious by the effort he puts into it that he was the perfect person to take over. He has the intelligence to do the work, but also to know when he needs help. I also enjoyed his pursuit of Shana and the way he also showed his caring. Besides the smoking love scenes there are some really sweet moments. Shana is portrayed as a really strong, independent and feisty woman. She has an excellent reputation in the business world. She admits her attraction to Jace right away but tells him that they must control their urges because she doesn't mix business and pleasure. That doesn't last long but they resolve to keep things professional at work and save the heat for their off hours. One of the things I enjoyed most was seeing the way that Shana worked. She has one of those minds that can put seemingly random things together and solve a puzzle. Both Jace and Shana started out with the intention of a simple affair, but discovered that they wanted more than just sex from the other one.

I loved the family relationships of both characters. Shana has her sister and her father, both of whom she is very close to. Besides being sisters, Shana and Jules are best friends and you can see their closeness in the conversations that they have. Both of them also look out for their father, who raised them after their mother's death. I loved their surprise when he tells them that he's thinking of remarrying, and their protectiveness when they want to check out the woman that he is seeing. The secondary story of his relationship with Mona is a sweet story of mature love.

Jace has an interesting relationship with his two brothers. They are obviously close and support each other, but they also have their own issues to deal with. I loved the teasing among them and how they can give each other a hard time without any hard feelings. Caden left home to pursue his music, but also to escape the memories of his life after his mother's murder. He deeply resented the way they were treated by the townspeople and especially heartbroken by the loss of the girl he thought loved him. Dalton has always been a ladies man and has never had to pursue a woman. Everybody thought he was living off his playboy ways, especially with older women and didn't realize that there was a really sharp mind there too. He plays a vital part in saving the family business. He also finds a woman who interests him but doesn't seem that interested in him. She disappears before he can get her name and he wants to find her. I'm really looking forward to their stories. ( )
