Plot was good though ( ) The Devil's Breath is the 3rd book in the Dr. Thomas Silkstone mystery series by Tessa Harris. The story was centered around The Great Fog of 1783.  Dr. Silkstone is an anatomist and scientist and when the fog hits he is tasked with figuring out why it's causing sickness and death throughout the English countryside. I didn't know a whole lot about the Great Fog before reading this book so I found the story highly interesting. There is murder, mayhem, science, deception and even a little romance. There was just a lot going on which is how I like my stories so it kept me entertained throughout. If you're familiar with the series, then you know that Lady Lydia can be very annoying and try your patience even at her best but in this story I thought she finally showed some redeeming qualities. I never even wanted to reach in the book and slap her this time so I thought that was huge progress. I'm hoping this was a turning point and she finally has it together from here on out. I will find out soon enough I'm sure as I plan on reading #4, The Lazarus Curse, very soon. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

A brilliant man of science, Dr. Thomas Silkstone is not one to heed superstition.
