Won In Warfare is a historical fiction novel set in the American Revolutionary War, the main character is Captain Jack Alleyne, an English soldier. It follows his adventures as they relate to the war itself, and a women he meets upon rescuing her from imminent death at the hands of a band of Cherokee Indians. After the fort is threatened Jack leaves to seek reinforcements and help promising to come back to his young maiden, henceforth a series of unfortunate events fall into his path and he undertakes a series of adventures throughout backwoods America fighting both Indians & Americans.
Overall, you can tell it is an early 1900s book as the writing is quite stiff and dry, the story itself is alright but isn't anything particularly noteworthy or memorable. If you're a fan of historical fiction in late 1700s America/the revolutionary war or frontier novels, you may find it of particular interest otherwise probably not so much. ( )
