It is a part of the series featuring the character Baily Ruth. A ghost from Heaven who comes to earth on missions to help people. The story is a bit drawn out and has moments were the wit and humor is just too much. Over all the story is fun. If you like cozy mysteries on the light hearted side this book is for you. I've been a fan of Bailey Ruth ( & Carolyn Hart) since their first book. Her endearing attachment to fashion combined with her need for excitement and love of her old town make her the best emissary for Adelaide. Unfortunately reality has a way of catching up with the afterlife even as it does for those of us still of the earth, and Bailey Ruth has finally met her match in this installment of the cozy mystery series. The book is lighthearted and well-written. I look forward to her next adventure. I won this book from Goodreads First Reads program and was sent a copy in exchange for a fair and honest review. Bailey Ruth is a ghost who has been sent back to earth to help Nick Magruder. Unfortunately she is not there in an official capacity and is breaking all the rules. I loved Bailey Ruth. She is funny, wild, and totally lovable. This is the first Bailey Ruth Raeburn mystery I have read. It will not be the last. You do not have to have read the earlier books in the series to enjoy GHOST GONE WILD. This is a enjoyable read in the cozy mystery genre. Lots of fun as I tried to figure out the murderer but I did not figure it out. Carolyn Hart's Bailey Ruth series joins the magical and the practical. Bailey Ruth, a heavenly ghost, helps the police in finding the guilty individual. As a heavenly creature, Bailey' appearance becomes her best year. Therefore redheaded and fashion conscious Bailey is twenty-eight. Bailey constantly describes her attire, and she dresses well. Most of the books of this series, that I have read, hail from Oklahoma, but the weather does not enter into the setting too often. The characters enliven the story, but Bailey's also departed husband, Bobby Mac, seems hidden from the limelight. Bailey mentions Bobby Mac, but he seldom enters into the case. Carolyn Hart does not write a graphic murder mystery, her novels are like M C Beaton in a friendly jaunt into mayhem and mystery. Carolyn Hart's story reminds me of The Bishop's Wife with Gary Grant. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
Onderdeel van de reeks(en)Bailey Ruth (4)
"Bailey Ruth loves to return to earth as an emissary from Heaven's Department of Good Intentions. Problem is, she's a bit of a loose cannon as far as ghosts go--forgetting to remain invisible, alarming earthly creatures--so she's far from the top of department head Wiggins's go-to list for assignments. That's why she's surprised when the Heaven-sent Rescue Express drops her off at a frame house on the outskirts of her old hometown, Adelaide, Oklahoma, where a young man is playing the drums. What kind of rescuing does he need--drum lessons? But when a window cracks and a rifle barrel is thrust inside, only Bailey Ruth's hasty intervention saves Nick Magruder from taking a bullet. When she materializes to reassure him, she finds she can't go back to vanishing. What gives? It turns out she's been tricked by Nick's late aunt--Delilah Delahunt Duvall--to come to the young man's rescue, which means she isn't back on earth in service of the department. Wiggins has no idea where she is--and now she may be trapped in Adelaide forever. Unless she can help Aunt Dee snare the person who wants her nephew dead."-- Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

Review: This was really hard to get into and also was particularly easy to put down. The entire story was pretty silly. If you didn't know 'who done it' early on you weren't paying attention. ( )
