What looks like a little boy is running around happy to go see Texas and ride horses, dance, and eat beans. Mother says that there is much more to Texas than that! She takes off the cowboy hat, and there is her daughter underneath it. She puts her to bed.
Personal Reaction
I like the bilingual books. I feel like they are a must to have in the classroom. This is not necessarily one of my favorites though.
Classroom Extension
1. Talk about Texas, and what Texas has to offer, after all its not far away.
2. A really great book to read early in class with a student whose first language is Spanish to help the class to understand language barriers.
