This beautifully illustrated book describes the daily habits of a seal in the ocean and informing the reader of various seal facts that supplement the story. I would recommend this book for grades K-3 and use it as an introduction into nonfiction, and perhaps use it as an introduction to an animal research unit. I really like this book. I enjoy it because it has a storyline to it, telling the life or journey of a seal. But, it also has in a smaller, different font some more factual things about seals. Ex: Seals spend time together in groups on land, but they usually swim alone, etc. I think this book does a really good job keeping the students involved and engaged with the book, while also reaching those kiddos that want more information, they want the factual information. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

A lyrical portrait of seal characteristics and life explains how seals appear to be slow and sleepy creatures on land but are powerful, graceful and dynamic animals under the water who cleverly outmaneuver predators and skillfully catch fishy dinners. Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
