It's about a girl named Carrie and she stays with her grandparents every summer on the Blue Ridge. Carrie's grandparents house is on the land the goverment wants to use for the Blue Ridge Parkway. But what will happen when the goverment is through with there place? Find out in the book Grandpa's Mountain. A true story of evition on the Blue Ridge Parkway. I recomend this book to those teaching recent history, (depression era). It tells of a part of history not well known. People of the Blue Ridge Mountains lost their homes and family farms due to the presidents "New Deal". A Little known fact in our nations past. In order to create jobs, National parks were created at the cost of peoples homes and land. Well written good story telling. For those who care to know there is a 'Waltons' episod from the old TV show that covers this very subject. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
