I need twists and page turners. The dialogue really doesn't do much for me either.... ( ) This novel was a sweet, lovely and wholesome read about a young woman seeking her way in life on her own. After losing her family, hating her job and finally succumbing to responding to a mail order bride ad, Aundy, travels across the country to Oregon to meet her husband to be. Only one day in the small town of Pendleton, Aundy finds herself truly happy she made the trip. Mr. Erikson seems loyal and kind and truly a good mate for her. Then things take a turn for the worse and her whole world is turned upside down. She ends up on the doorstep of her neighbors, muddy, tattered and torn and with the threat of a very injured new husband down the road. Aundy suddenly finds herself in a predicament of being all alone in the Oregon territory, but her strong will and temperament earn her respect and loyalty and love from those around her. Now all she must do is survive in this foreign land. This was very well written with clearly defined characters who you could help but enjoy. From the ranch hands and their unique quirks, Aundy and her stubbornness, and Garrett and his caring attitude of Aundy. It made for a wonderful read and one I'd read over again. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
