I have to say that I love Josephine Myles' characters. They are so real. So much so, that I feel that it I were to travel to Bristol, I could actually run into them down at Yusef's coffee shop. And that is just one of the things I loved about this book. It's like a baklava (sorry can't help it...) There are layers of things that you discover as you continue. Things slightly more hidden, others out in the open. And covering the lot, a very sweet romance. The hoarding and the events that lead up to it are very well described. Again, not surprising with this author. Overall I felt all the issues were very well handled. And as I said before the romance is sweet and sexy at the same time. ETA December 21, 2016: Original review says I'm just "taking a break" but I'm now changing this to DNF. Just can't get through this. Original review: So. Much. Detail. So. Many. Words. Is it insensitive of me to say this book about a hoarder could use some serious editing? I know this is supposed to be good and I'm pretty sure I'll come back to it, but for now I just do not have the patience to keep reading. So... taking a break. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

When an avalanche of books cuts off access to his living room, university librarian Jasper Richardson can no longer ignore the truth. His ever-growing piles of books, magazines and newspapers can no longer be classified as a "collection". It's a hoard, and he needs professional help. Professional clutter clearer and counselor Lewis Miller thinks he's seen it all, but even he has to admit he's shocked. Not so much by the state of Jasper's house, but by the level of attraction he still feels for the sexy bookworm he remembers from schoo Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

I had this book for a very long time and just now got around to reading it.
Later on I realised the author had a very different reason for writing it...
I gave it three stars because I enjoyed the way it was written. I liked the humor and even the characters. What I didn't like was... well how easy it was to get over the hoarding. The problem with mental health problems is that they are very hard to get over. In this book it felt like it came very close to the 'Love is the answer to all your problems!'-thrope. I say very close because this is the first one in a series and maybe later on we will see more of these characters.
But aside from that there weren't any 'hot buttons'. I can see why some people really wouldn't like this. Especially the whole 'I'm sort of a therapist-but-not-really and you are my client, let's make babies love'.
