This review is currently only for Ken Liu's short story "Mono no Aware". I have not read the rest of the magazine at this point.
Incredibly touching short story about what might happen in the future after an Earth-killing asteroid strike. This one definitely deserved its Hugo win, and is one of the best stories of any length that I've read all year. ( )
I didn't like the novella, I think I would have enjoyed it more as straight literary criticism instead of a critique presented as a journal. Several of the short stories were quite good, though, especially "Mono no aware". ( )
