The sex is hot, but the rest of the story is lukewarm. Neither Gia or Luke impressed me. I really didn’t care about either one of them. It may have been because the story was short, but golden boy Luke and geeky Gia just didn’t strike the right notes with me. Plus, their hot sex in Vegas confused me. How long were they in the hotel room? Just one night? They sure went at it like crazy for such a short time. And if they were there longer (like that night, the next day and night) and Luke was supposed to be at a convention talking up the products why didn’t anyone report him missing? So, if it’s just the one short night, Gia & Luke realize they’re head over heels in love in just a few short hours. They had time for all that sweaty sex AND hours of serious talking. Sorry, it just bugs the crap outta me. I had a hard time with the timeline. Anyway, not badly written, just not my thing. ( )

At first look, Giovanna Renyard has everything she could hope for: great friends, a promising career, a fantastic apartment. But her sex life is inexistent… What Gia really wanted was to live a sexual fantasy, preferably with her attractive coworker Luke Monroe. Relationships between coworkers are not allowed at the company they both work, but Gia and her friends come up with the perfect plan: Luke is going to a convention in Las Vegas and, since he won’t be staying at the company for long, Gia will seduce him there, in disguise.

So, armed with a sexy dress and sexy shoes, with hair dyed and extensions, Gia becomes Vanna for a weekend and she discovers reality can, sometimes, be better than fantasy. But a connection between Gia and Luke starts to form, to the point where they both start sharing confidences, and what should have been only a weekend of sex with no strings attached, is starting to look like something more… Scared by her own feelings, Gia runs from the hotel and leaves an angry and frustrated Luke when he wakes up alone in the bed with no way of contacting the amazing woman with whom he’s spent the weekend.

Back to his normal life, Luke’s head is spinning trying to figure out how he’ll be able to find Vanna while, at the same time, he tries to figure out what he wants to do with his life. And Gia is feeling worse than ever, because she has had a glimpse of what could have been, but never will be. Imagine her surprise when she finds out her next project implies working close to Luke. Gia uses up all the tricks she can think of to avoid direct contact with him (even though she is convinced he would never recognize her), which obviously makes Luke notice her. And there is definitely something about her that intrigues and attracts him…

A little story, but with room for some character development, which I really liked. I also liked the main characters and the development of the relationship between them. ( )

A girl has to have her best friends, and Gia Renyard is no exception. Gia and her besties met in a college class, and the bond has never broken. The Girlz meet every few weeks for a ladies night and all it entails. Caryn is known for her sexy hookups, and loves to tell all . Jesse went on a Carribean cruise, met her soulmate brought him home and married him. Sara is the Drama Queen, from love to heartbreak and back again.
Then there's Gia. "Good ole average Gia. Dependable, nice, cute. Not phenomenal. Not horrible. Just average. Average sucked." Gia wanted a wild sexual fling, no strings, no inhibitions, caution to the wind. Something she can look back on when she's living her average life. The Girlz have the plans, Gia has a guy in mind. A very sexy co-worker. Vegas , here she comes.

Luke Monroe is not your average guy. Drop dead gorgeous, intelligent and "Bored with his job, bored with himself. Hell, he was even bored with his sex life." He was used to having women throw themselves at him, with no effort on his part. He wanted something different. He is in Vegas for a working weekend, at a club with his best friend Matt. In walks a woman, long red hair, long legs and a pair of killer heels. He was in lust. Vanna was her name, and despite a tiny niggling thought he had seen her before, he was not letting her out of his sight. Except when he woke up Sunday morning and reached for her she was gone! No note, nothing to even show she had been there at all. But Luke remembered every very sexy moment.

There is lots of laughter, some very sizzling scenes, and of course a sweet Happily Ever After. I enjoyed this book so much, and hope there are more adventures from the Girlz Guide to Gettin' It. ( )
