( ) Santa lived with his parents and his six siblings at the North Pole. Unlike his family, he loved his arctic home, enjoying the snow, the cold, and the pine trees. When his parents announced that the entire family would be moving to Florida, Santa wasn't happy. Then a huge blizzard snowed them in, and Santa's penchant for climbing chimneys came in handy, leading to an adventure in which he met a magical reindeer and a colony of elves. The North Pole (and Santa!) would never be the same again... An engaging origin story explaining how Santa came to be the reindeer-driving, elf-consorting, chimney-climbing gift-giver that he is, Little Santa features the understated but immensely appealing sense of humor that I have come to expect from author/illustrator Jon Agee's picture-books. I appreciated the fact that although Santa and his family have very different interests and life objectives, there is still a palpable sense of love between them in the story. Recommended to anyone looking for picture-books about Santa Claus, especially if they're looking for stories about how Santa came to be the legend he is... This adorable story takes you through "how Santa became Santa". He starts small, loves the cold, climes chimneys, talks to reign deer, and finds elves. Then, his family decided that they were going to move to Florida because it was too cold in the North Pole, but Santa stayed behind. "And you know the rest of the story". geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
