I was very gripping and end of the seat story that was hard to predict the end! The main character did annoy me but overall i really liked the book and what it was trying to do. It also was set in a good town and I look forward to reading more by this author in the future! I had planned to read this several years ago, but never got around to it. My daughter passed her copy on to me this afternoon and three hours later, I closed the cover. Altogether a quick and satisfying read with multiple small mysteries braided together around a bigger one. Morgan makes a very satisfying protagonist and her connection to Flynn, although quite brief, drives her to learn who the boy that a software recognition program thinks is him once he's dead, or so she thinks. Enter Evan who is a dead ringer for Flynn, but never heard of him. When Morgan and Evan team up, with help from her best friend Toni, things get interesting quickly and sinister threads start growing. Neat mystery with a hint of creepiness. Two and a half stars. I have actually read this book twice in four years. Each time I set it down, it was wiped from my memory. Today was the third time I checked it out from the library, completely clueless until I read the first page and, "Oh, I remember you."So I am putting the read date down for today and the review so I can actually try to remember it. This book is bland, forgettable, and annoying. The writing is interesting enough to keep me reading until the end, especially considering I've done it twice. The characters are really annoying, the plot isn't interesting anymore--I feel like I've read stories with a similar premise, even if I can't remember. i think for me, they may have all blurred together, and this one stands out as one of the less bland. The characters can be melodramatic at times, and oh, the adults were -so- annoying. I wonder if this was the author's first mystery-suspense, or if it was an angle somehow new to the author, that just didn't work. Maybe it was a series of choices that resulted in this. It wasn't the book for me. The town where Morgan and her family lives has undergone an economic downturn since the Stall Pharmaceutical plant went out of business after a whistleblower revealed that their migraine medicine caused heart attacks. Most people left town, but Morgan's and her friend, Toni's families have stayed even though they are both dealing with financial hardships. One saving grace for Morgan is her boyfriend, Flynn, but when he is killed by a hit and run driver, she is left with nothing but her grief. A picture on a social networking page of a boy named Evan who looks exactly like Flynn gives Morgan hope that Flynn may still be alive, but when she meets Evan at a party, she quickly realizes that there are subtle but obvious differences between Evan and Flynn. A picture of Morgan sent to Evan telling him to stay away from her leads Morgan, Evan, Toni, and her friend Reece into an investigation of Flynn's death that will change all of their lives forever. Forget Me is a mystery interwoven with the tragedy of a small town that is dying and the reasons behind it. The adults in this story have, in one way or another, made serious mistakes with their lives, leaving the teenagers as the only stable members of the community. Although the premise of overly mature teenagers is a little hard to swallow, it makes for a very interesting YA novel. Overall, a good mystery with several twists and turns right up to the last page of the book. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
