HTML: The Saki Megapack assembles no less than 140 works by H. H. Munro, who also wrote under the name "Saki." Munro influenced such later talents as P. G. Wodehouse. Included in this volume are both of Munro's novels, The Unbearable Basington and When William Came, plus the short story collections The Chronicles Of Clovis, The Toys Of Peace, Reginald, Reginald In Russia, and Beasts And Superbeasts. In addition, 5 rare stories are also added, Clovis on the Alleged Romance of Business, The Comments of Moung Ka, The Gala Programme, The Infernal Parliament, and The Square Egg. .Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

"Is your maid called Florence ?"
"Her name is Florinda."
"What an extraordinary name to give a maid!"
"I did not give it to her; she arrived in my service already christened."
"What I mean is," said Mrs Riversedge, "that when I get maids with unsuitable names I call them Jane; they soon get used to it."
"An excellent plan," said the aunt of Clovis coldly; "unfortunately I have got used to being called Jane myself. Ithappens to be my name."
Some of my favourite Saki stories are in this collection, including Tobermory, Sredni Vashta, The Music on the Hill and The Secret Sin of Septimus Brope.
But there are also some weaker stories that I don't like much at all, including The Chapelet and Wratislav.
