It seemed like the story had been updated a bit to reflect modern politics and some modern technology like texting, but the story was essentially the same. Sometimes female voice actors can voice young boys well and it's not that obvious. This isn't one of those times. That was one of the things that kept throwing me off. I couldn't tell what sex the person speaking was until there was more context added to the conversation, but it's not enough to cause me to give the total experience a bad rating. The music was good and it was an interesting touch, though the musical lead-ins to new chapters could have been a bit shorter. ( ) This is an audioplay version of the Ender's Game story. This version, like the original, was written by Orson Scott Card. It was not as good at the original novel, but it was fascinating to see how Card transformed the work. So much of the original takes place inside Ender's head. This version is told almost entirely through spoken dialogue. The essential story is the same, most of the scenes are recognizable, but a lot of the details of how it's told are changed. Yet Card still manages to reveal a lot about how Ender thinks. He also works in some details from the extended universe that's grown since the first book was written. Some of voice acting could have been stronger. I also found Bean's voice really annoying, and kind of found that this version just didn't really do justice to the depth of his character and story. Though, with a whole book series of his own, how could it? I can kind of only recommend this to people who love Ender's Game and are interested in the craft of writing. But if you're into those two things, this work serves as a really insightful look at how to shape and reshape a story. And definitely more satisfying than the movie version. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
