Each topic that was described had some type of noise or onomatopoeia to go along with it. I think the noises enhanced the book and made it more interesting and fun to read. I enjoyed reading this book and I would use it in the classroom to show children that we can write and still make sounds. ( ) A very stimulating poetry book. The illustrations are vibrant and colorful featuring text with kooky fonts and numerous onomatopoeia words. The poems not only focus of sounds words but also rhyming words. This is a good book to a suggest a young child read when exploring poetry and creative writing. A poetry book about sounds, noisy sounds. This rhyming poetry book is filled with onomatopoeia as the book uses words to describe noises and situations. The book is about different poems and situations in which all of the sounds and noises are specific to that poem. I really enjoyed this book and think that it should be accessible to all children. I think that they would be able to hear the noises and associate to the poems or even be able to create a poem on their own. This is a great concept that the author uses and I think that it works great with this book. Each page is a new story, with a new sound and feel. The illustrations in this book are amazing as well. I felt that they tied the book together and added so much more to each poem. A wonderful collection of rhyming poems that focus on sounds and noises. The sounds such as "thud" or "kerrrchoo" are a clever way to introduce and reinforce phonics in poems above everyday life, like buses, allergies, rain, crows, dancing, etc. This is a must in every classroom. The poems are clever and the rhyming words help young readers learn sounds and words. The illustrations compliment each poem in a meaningful way that will help young readers understand the context of new vocabulary words. There is a poem in this book that can be incorporated into just about any subject or unit lesson in elementary grades. Children would very much enjoy making the noisy sounds that are found in this book. Wonderful way to engage young readers in an active way into reading and literacy activities. These poems can be used either as an introduction to a topic or as a fun conclusion. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
This book takes a noisy- and entirely fresh and funny - approach to poetry. In it, verses sputter, shout, chatter, and beg to be read out loud. Poet Bobbi Katz sets every foot to tapping and tongue to rapping with her infectious odes to noises of all kinds. From burps to soothing ocean waves to honking horns, noises jump and jangle. Paired with the stylish, boldly graphic illustrations of newcomer Susan Kwas, whose artwork snaps and pops as vigorously as the poems themselves, this volume guarantees readers an eyeful as well as an earful. After enjoying the noisiness, kids will want to raise a rousing cheer for poetry! Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
